VA DEEMS 8000+ VETERANS “RECOVERED” FROM WAR WOUNDS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ~

VA DEEMS 8000+ VETERANS “RECOVERED” FROM WAR WOUNDS SO THEY WON’T HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR CARE

Tampa, FL, February 23, 2017

Since late 2014, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, has been quietly and systematically terminating or lowering to the lowest “Tier” (level of care required), thousands of severely wounded veterans from the VA’s “Veteran Caregiver program; in direct violation of the law. Even when challenged with medical evidence, they deny all appeals.

In mid-2016, Veteran Warriors began investigating claims by hundreds of caregivers from across the nation, about being terminated without justification. In many cases, the veterans’ conditions had deteriorated since they were enrolled in the program, yet the VA seemingly always “concurred” with the “clinical assessments” submitted by social workers and nurses to support the terminations.

Today, after months of research and evidence collection, Veteran Warriors filed a formal request for Congressional hearing with the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, to bring this evidence to light. The organization has over 300 case studies from veterans and evidence that approximately 8000 have been terminated in the last two years; under the guise of the veteran “having recovered” and “graduating” from a program that has no verbiage for such outcomes.

Veteran Warriors purpose is to bring about reforms and accountability to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
